Longleat Festival of Light 2024

The Festival of Light 2024 invites visitors to turn back the clock and travel the world creating magical memories by stepping into the past with the interactive and immersive lantern trail.

There will be the opportunity to walk through a great pyramid of Egypt, dodge a dinosaur’s roar, or marvel at a 10-metre-high Roman Colosseum complete with chariots and gladiators.

Guests can pick the era they want to discover or visit all of them as the evolution of the earth is showcased from the age of the dinosaurs to the present day celebrating Longleat opening its doors 75 years ago.

This year’s spectacular lantern trail is a historical wonderland just waiting to be explored. Longleat was the first in the country to introduce a lantern festival and this year is the 10th anniversary.

Imaginations can roam wild like the animals on the winter drive through safari which will also be open so visitors can enjoy the modern-day conservation as well as taking a trip through the pages of the history books.

The display which opens on 9 November and runs until 5 January features more than 1000 lanterns which are created using 40,000 metres of fabric, 45,000 lightbulbs, 50,000 metres of light strips and 150 tons of metal.
