Running until January 6, ‘A Fantastic Voyage’ is the Wiltshire attraction’s most ambitious ever Christmas event.
Featuring more than 1,000 different illuminated lanterns, the brand new storyline took a team of highly-skilled Chinese artists more than 7,000 hours to complete.
They used over 40km of silk and LED lighting strips plus more than 60,000 light bulbs to create a stunning set of three-dimensional illuminated scenes.
From Ancient Egypt, complete with an awesome 20-metre-tall great pyramid, to a rocket voyage around the solar system and its planets, the fantastic new theme incorporates more than a dozen walk-through tableaux.
Visitors join adventurous brother and sister duo, Harry and Bea, and their fearless canine companion, Monty as they embark on an epic, enchanted journey.
There’s the chance to travel under the sea, go back in time to the age of dinosaurs, visit the frozen Arctic and witness a castle besieged by knights in armour.
Other displays feature scenes from South America, Japan, India and Papua New Guinea, along with a 28-metre-long steam train, biplane and hot air balloon.
The ever-popular Enchanted Christmas Tree Show returns with a new tale of seasonal joy, complete with snow, and the Santa Train will be transporting visitors to meet Father Christmas in his wintry woodland grotto.
Visitors can also enjoy the magic of storytelling with ‘A Flight Before Christmas’ – a unique festive experience featuring real flying owls, plus there’s the chance to go on a drive-through Winter Safari, visit Monkey Temple and Jungle Kingdom, embark on a Jungle Cruise and explore the illuminated Hedge Maze.
Longleat House will be decorated in style for a 1920s Christmas complete with live characters dotted throughout to make you really feel like you have travelled back through time.
