What better way to get into the Christmas spirit than by signing up for the Julia’s House Santa fun run in Devizes on Sunday, 10th December.
The sponsored run in aid the of the children’s hospice charity sets off from Hillworth Park at 10am with a choice of three routes – 1.5km, 3km or 5km – making it ideal for all ages and abilities.
Families, friends and colleagues are being encouraged to kick-start Christmas by joining in and showing their support for local families with life-limited children.
Everyone who takes part in the event will get a free Santa suit to wear as they walk, jog or run the route, raising awareness and funds for Julia’s House.
Liz Froud, Wiltshire Fundraiser said: “Last year’s Santa Run saw 75 entrants dressed head to toe in Santa suits, taking part to help build Wiltshire’s first children’s hospice. It was such an enjoyable event we’re delighted to be organising it again this year. The Devizes hospice is open, but we need support from the local community to help raise funds for our on-going care costs.”
Julia’s House provides practical and emotional support for families caring for a child with a life-limiting condition and earlier this year the charity opened the first children’s hospice in Wiltshire. Its nurses and carers are helping families across the county from Salisbury to Swindon, both in the new hospice and at home.
