British Touring Car Championship leading light Matt Neal is to compete at Gurston Down Speed Hillclimb on Sunday April 27th to help with the venue’s celebration of its 300th meeting! Honda Racing are bringing along a Racing Jazz for him to compete in the Chairman’s Invitation class alongside Honda’s Alyn James, who will run in a Civic Endurance racer.
Former triple BTCC champion and four times Independent Drivers champion Matt Neal is more used to driving his Honda Yuasa Racing Civic Tourer this year, having collected three podium places so far in the 2014 Championship in which Neal, now a veteran of 500 BTCC races, currently lies fifth overall. However, the compact and nimble Honda Jazz will likely be much better suited to the narrow confines and tight corners of Gurston!
Witnessing a seasoned professional like Matt Neal put the Jazz through its paces on one of the UK’s fastest hillclimbs is sure to be a terrific spectacle; let’s face it, you don’t often get the opportunity to watch a touring car ace compete on a hillclimb!
So Gurston Down will be a very busy place on Sunday April 27th, and if you are coming to spectate then we advise an early arrival as the venue has a limited capacity. The gates will be open from 0800. Please park in the car park as directed to facilitate exit at the end of the meeting.
Please note: The organisers accept entries and drivers’ nominations in good faith and every effort is made to adhere to the published programme. The organisers, however, cannot accept responsibility for the failure of any car or driver to appear.
