Wiltshire was chosen as the first county to use the new police non-emergency number. The aim is to reduce the pressure on 999 services. The new number to call is 101, replacing the old 0845 408 7000 non-emergency number.
Calls to 101 from landlines and mobiles cost 15 pence per call, regardless of the time of day or how long your call lasts.
101 will be introduced nationwide over the next few months.
